		<description><![CDATA[The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) is a leading institution in training and provision of technical support to open source technologies. The Centre also undertakes development of applications using open sources technologies and advocates for the use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and FOSS services within Ghana and the West Africa sub-region.

Research and training in open source technologies is a core area at AITI-KACE and this has led to the establishment of the Open Source Research Group (OSRG). The OSRG at AITI-KACE is made up of dedicated experts with a wide variety of skills and experience. The group's capacity to diagnose open source technical challenges has led to their involvement in a diverse open source related projects.

Our course offerings include internationally recognized certification like RHCSA, RHCE, SuSE: CLP &#038; CLE, LPI etc. Our specialty is the delivery of customized training for our wide ranging client base which includes individuals and companies in West, East and Southern Africa.

The team values collaborations with partners from industries and other major stakeholders; LPI, RedHat, Novell – SuSE, ECOWAS, FOSSFA, ict@innovation project , FLOSSinclude project, inWent,.
The four pillars of AITI open source work are:

    * Empirical research on social-economic impact of open source
    * Collaborations with partners to undertake innovative projects
    * Support of government open source deployments
    * Expanding the range of open source training courses.

		<description><![CDATA[The Innovation Week- "i-week" is an initiative of Ghana - India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT. The Innovation Week aims at showcasing ICT innovations in Ghana and her ECOWAS neighbours. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) represent key elements for economic and social development in Sub-Saharan Africa. In sectors such as education, administration and business development, sustainable local ICT service providers, ICT-driven businesses, IT-experts, and innovation managers, particularly in the promising field of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) need to be encouraged and given exposure for business opportunities.

The main message is that innovation can be translated into action and that there is unlimited potential for innovation on our African continent. During the week, a number of knowledge-sharing events will take place with participation from ECOWAS countries, Asia, Latin America, USA, and Europe. "i-week" brings together those creative and innovative individuals or teams who have solved a problem through their own brainpower using technology and innovative ideas. Exhibitors and participants will have the opportunity to engage face-to-face, Business-to-Customers, Business-to-Business and media interactions as well as showcasing their innovations to the public.

The “i week” also aims to promote growth of ICT education and training in Ghana and the Subregion through exhibitions, seminars, presentations and discussions of best worldwide examples in accomplishing developmental growth through ICT. The “i-week” do provide a platfrom to allow participants, speakers, exhibitors, educationists and students to engage themselves in discussions that examine the opportunities ICT provide today. Special emphasis is on showcasing ingenuity and innovation from Ghana and beyond as a means of inspiring achievements in the youth, especially students pursuing higher education. Job fairs, exhibitions and presentations would provide enlightened opportunities and career path progression in the various disciplines of ICT training in Ghana.

Students and faculty projects are given special platforms to be exhibited and share experiences and knowledge with Ghanaian and international ICT experts and also to deliberate on the benefits of Open Source Software, Mobile Content Applications, Cyber Security and Cyber Crimes, e-Education, e-Governance, e-Health, e-Banking, e-Agriculture and Rural Development, e-Content and High performance computing research innovations all aimed at exploiting IT technologies for the development of competitiveness in Ghana and the sub-region. During the celebration extensive media coverage is provided to ensure that participating institutions are profiled for the public to appreciate the strides in ICT education and training for the developmental agenda of the sub-region.
